WXXX PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS POLICY

WXXX offers all announcements for all non-profit organizations on a no charge basis. We do this as a form of tithing our airtime to those that need the help. Although any entity is allowed to make a donation to WXXX, no non-profit organization (as defined by section 501(c)3 of the IRS Code) may remunerate WXXX in any fashion in return for airtime.

AREAS OF ON AIR COVERAGE

Produced I Recorded Announcements: These are 30 and 60 second pre-recorded announcements that are written, produced, and voiced by WXXX personnel or by personnel from the agency requesting the airtime. Determination is based on general audience appeal and is left to WXXX personnel only.

Live On-Air Mentions: These are “live” 10-second mentions that WXXX air personalities use during regular music hours.

WXXX Community Calendar: WXXX airs this special feature at various times, Weekdays.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ON-AIR COVERAGE

1.       Your request for airtime must be received by WXXX at least two weeks before the event.

2.       Your letter of request should be printed or typed on your church or organization’s letterhead.

3.       Include as much information about the event as possible. Be sure and provide facts about the day and date; time; location; and telephone number for more information. Background and bio information on people or groups featured is also very helpful.

4.       Events of “inner church” nature such as potlucks, picnics, general services, sermon topics, and yard sales will not be considered for airtime.

5.       Events that will be strongly considered are those which appeal to the community-at-large and would be of interest to our entire listening audience. Such events would include: concerts, special speakers, major revivals, community events, and special announcements for parachurch and para-group organizations.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES

1.       Pastors, or organizational leaders, may voice their own spots with the understanding that WXXX reserves the right to approve copy and production quality. A scheduled production session at our studios is required in advance. You will need to contact our Production director to set up an appointment. WXXX also reserves the right to re-cut the spot if it does not meet our on air quality standards.

2.       WXXX allows on-air promotional announcements for Christian schools. You are allowed a continuous two-week schedule, which can be run one time each calendar year.

3.       WXXX does not allow promotional announcements for Day Care Centers or Montessoris.

4.       WXXX must have a copy of the front page of your “501(c)3” Non-profit form from the IRS on file.

5.       WXXX reserves the right to deny on-air coverage for any event that is deemed not in the best interest of the station or our audience.

6.       WXXX can accept a donation from a for-profit advertising agency acting on behalf of a non-profit organization.  This cannot be accepted in return for guaranteed announcements. However, announcements can be made.

FOR-PROFIT BUSINESSES

1.       WXXX will carry announcements of charitable acts by for–profit businesses as long as we receive no remuneration from that business. Unfortunately, that means we cannot carry charitable announcements for our underwriters.
