This may be the most surprising thing about our current government in the US: it seems that the Constitution is only followed when convenient or expedient. Our Constitution and why we need it this week on Quiz the Diz Podcast. Part of the “The Things We Can Agree On for America”

All People are Created Equal
Equality and equity are two different things. This week on the podcast, I talk about how equality is something Americans are born with in our founding documents, but equity is an unattainable ideology that ignores human nature. This is the 6th of the “Ten Things We Can Agree On for America” series.
Debt is Soul Crushing
Overspending now means our legacy will be one of crushing debt and not abundance. One of the “Ten Things We Can Agree On for America” is living within our means as a country.
What Good is Being a Citizen of the United States?
One of the Ten Things We Can Agree on for America is “Citizens are the Supreme Inhabitants of this Nation”. If we are not, what good is citizenship? That’s this week’s discussion and it focuses on the massive problem our country has with illegal immigration.
We are A Nation of Laws, not Men…
It’s appalling how out of control the justice system seems these days. One of the things in my list of Ten Things We Can Agree on as Americans is what John Adams said about our fledling government, “We are a Government of Laws, not Men.” A truly free and prosperous country cannot have the disparity we see in our legal system and survive.
Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?!?

One person said that “I’m not so sure all Americans can – or will – agree on any of them.” referring to the “Ten Things We Can Agree On For America”. series I have started. On this week’s podcast, I begin a multi-podcast look at some Values I think we should agree on so that we might maintain our republic. Let me know what you think as well.
Here are the 10 Things:
- We are a sovereign nation
- We are a nation of laws, not men
- Our rights are protected by, but not granted by the government
- Citizens are the supreme inhabitants of this nation
- Our government should operate within its means
- All people are created equal
- The Constitution of the United States is to be followed by and protected by our elected officials
- All government workers serve the people
- Wealth belongs to those who generate it
- We are a representative republic
Let’s Get Rid of What Makes It Work!
After the 2020 Election, I had an eye-opening conversation with a good friend about why we don’t need the Electoral College anymore. The Electoral College is essential to the integrity of our national elections, and there is a very good reason it’s in place.
Don’t Tell Me What to Do! Part Deux!
A few months ago, I did an episode about the desire for others to tell us what to do. It focused on the desire for those in authority to instruct us on what to do. In this episode, I bring specific thoughts and ideas to the problem. It’s no longer right for us to be silent when we know we are being deceived. As a matter of fact, it never was!
Teachable, Trainable and Coachable?
As my friend and former boss Steve Butler taught me, integrity means pushing your chair back under the desk. Being teachable, trainable and coachable on this week’s episode.
