This new short version of Quiz the Diz is Called “The Diz Daily”. There are items I see or verses from the Bible I read on which I want to comment. On the verses, I hope to tie them into a daily event; on the news stories I read, I will make an effort to comment from the perspective of the Kingdom of God. My desire is that these are a couple of minutes long, and help you get through your day, or if you listen in the evening, let you take a look at the day’s events from a different perspective.
Every week, I post my episodes on the “Not the Bee” website. It’s at notthebee.com and is a sister site to The Babylon Bee satire site. Last week, a person I respect, Glenna, had an insight about how we probably “should” agree, but the political left probably wouldn’t. So, I thought I would take a stab at trying to look at these 10 ideas from a leftist perspective. I think you’ll find it an interesting listen this week!
There are four ways to handle disappointment:
It is the last one that makes you better and how to get past the first three and land on the beneficial fourth is what this episode is about.
Everybody has tough times. This week, I share 6 Tips from Phil Cooke that help give you tools to make it! You can learn to get through them with grace and come out on the other side in victory!
Anybody that plays golf, especially like I do (not great!), knows that there is always ONE shot that encourages you to come back to the course again. After the last couple of weeks of talking about Purpose and Vision, this week it’s getting the opportunity to take your shot.
This week, I continue my remarks about passion, specifically about how to find yours. It’s not as easy as you think!
Passion is something we usually associate with physical interaction with another person, but in reality, it is where joy can be rooted in our lives.
In this week’s episode, we explore the origin of the passion I have for radio and speaking and determine how that has played out for me. Next week: how it can work for you!
Nay and I will be married 40 years on the 20th of July, and we learned long ago to speak blessings over each other every day. In the podcast this week, these are the items I shared:
Do you see a man who is skilled in his work? He will not stand before unknown men, but before Kings and Princes
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations. (From Bible Gateway)
I think we don’t have to learn to fear, but we learn who and what to fear all the time. Is is a conspiracy or just the way we are because of the fall of Adam and Eve?
Our scripture reference is Isaiah 8:12, “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
